Beginning in June 2021, the Board decided to do something new with the Lake Oswego Scholarship award. Because the Coronavirus pandemic has had a disproportionate economic impact on women, and particularly on black, indigenous and women of color (BIPOC), it was decided to support Oregon Tradeswomen by awarding scholarships for training and through advocacy.

The training prepares them for apprenticeships in such areas as iron and line workers, plumbers, electricians, construction workers, H-VAC and sprinkler-fitters.  These are all fields with high demand and with living wages.

Your support to these scholarships is welcome and important.
